European Heritage Days 2025 – spotlight on architectural heritage

The European Heritage Days will take place from 19th to 28th September 2025 in Luxembourg. Under the theme "Heritage and Architecture: Windows to the Past, Doors to the Future", the European Heritage Days invite you to discover the richness and diversity of the architectural landscape that shapes Europe’s cultural identity. Throughout the country, numerous activities and events invite you to discover the richness of Luxembourg’s and Europe’s cultural heritage.
European Heritage Days
The European Heritage Days open the doors to places which are usually closed to the public. The objectives include raising greater awareness among European citizens of the richness and cultural diversity of Europe, and highlighting its rich mosaic of cultures.
By choosing the theme of architectural heritage, the Heritage Days showcase the artistic and technical achievements of architecture, emphasising that architecture goes beyond its purely functional role to become a powerful symbol of local and national histories.
This year, a variety of awareness-raising projects and events are planned, such as discovery visits and guided tours of buildings or historic sites, as well as museum collections, workshops, conferences, demonstrations of traditional skills or introductions to heritage-related trades and techniques, projects involving new technologies, concerts and other heritage-related events.
