For the 2024 edition, the organisers are proposing 13 cyclo-tourist routes covering more than 500km. For the duration of this year's event, 82km of roads will be closed to traffic, 98% of them on one or two weekends only.

Vëlosummer 2024

Vëlosummer is a great opportunity to rediscover the joys of cycling in a safe and practical way, and also to take in some of Luxembourg's most picturesque and varied landscapes, check out cultural attractions, support local shops and products. To help you pinpoint hotels, restaurants and nearby tourist attractions along the way, a handy road map has been produced, showing the different routes in detail. Further information and details about the routes can be found at www.velosummer.lu and via the Visit Luxembourg app.

Among the new features of the 2024 edition, seven new circuits and two French municipalities participating in this cycle-tourism initiative. Also, the possibility of winning a yellow jersey by following the challenges proposed by the Visit Luxembourg application.

The bed+bike and Move We Carry initiatives make it easier for cyclists to travel around the country and enjoy all the benefits of slow tourism this summer. The Rent a Bike initiative lets you hire bikes on the various routes.

A rapidly expanding network

Luxembourg currently has a network of 640km of cycle tracks, set to grow to 900km by 2028.

A network of express cycle ways links the country's different regions. This series of 23 cycle ways is expanding rapidly and developing into a dense grid that will facilitate and accelerate travel throughout the country. Local and regional paths and cycle tracks also give cyclists the opportunity to move away from the beaten track and into beautiful natural surroundings.

With new cycle routes, cycling in Luxembourg is even easier this summer.
