From 18 July to 16 August 2026, Vëlosummer is back for its seventh edition with even more routes to choose from, giving you the chance to (re)discover Luxembourg by bike. This year's event kicks off with the official launch in Goebelsmühle on 18 July, followed by a guided ride. The routes wind through a mosaic of different landscapes, villages and regions for a complete immersive experience in the heart of the Grand Duchy. Building on the success of the 2025 edition and its more than 43,000 participants, the event is only growing in popularity among a wide audience.

Lots of new additions

For 2026, the organisers have pulled out all the stops with an expanded offer. There are now 14 tours totalling over 500 km, with 100 km of roads temporarily restricted to cyclists only. This year's event also includes three new routes, improvements to existing trails and the return of much-loved iconic tours.

Vëlosummer 2026 promises to be an unforgettable experience, with a focus on being more accessible and more fun than ever: bike rental is a breeze and the routes feature even more events and activities, while also being designed for cyclists of all abilities, regardless of how comfortable they are in the saddle.

And that's not all. The organisers have added a touch of fun with the interactive "Vëlosummer Challenge", available via the VisitLuxembourg app. It encourages participants to answer quiz questions and validate 14 check-in points for the chance to win a 2026 yellow jersey.

Vëlosummer in your pocket

To showcase everything Vëlosummer has to offer, 30,000 copies of the "Vëlosummer in your pocket" map have been printed, featuring essential information such as details of routes, points of interest and difficulty levels. This handy guide is the perfect way to make sure you're getting the most out of your adventure.

Vëlosummer is a major cycling event. With over 43,000 participants in 2025, its popularity is only growing among residents and tourists alike. But it's much more than a cycling meet-up. It's a fun-filled atmosphere bringing together cycling fans, curious passing visitors and families looking for an original outdoor activity.

Vëlosummer's success is the result of a close partnership between the 52 participating municipalities and the regional tourist offices.
