EmoXies: explore the universe of Luxembourg's emojis

Called "EmoXies", alluding to the "X" of the Luxembourg Signature, these emojis offer everyone the possibility to give a "Luxembourg" touch to their messages.

EmoXies are small, iconic illustrations that represent Luxembourg in all its facets. Their use is not confined to the digital world, but can also be transposed into the printed, audiovisual and many other fields. As long as you do not modify them or use them for commercial purposes, you are free to use them as you wish!

Why and for whom?

EmoXies playfully reflect the different facets of our beautiful country and give you an insight into the Luxembourg way of life. The Luxembourgish interpretation of emoji was developed as a participatory tool to be used, applied and shared by the general public, institutions and other actors.

They are fun to use and can easily be integrated into your communication, just as regular emojis.

The EmoXies’ use is not confined to the digital world alone, as other applications in print and audio-visual productions are both thinkable and welcome!

Have you got an idea for an EmoXie?

The first set of EmoXies covered a wide range of standard themes representative of Luxembourg. Nevertheless, we do not want to leave it at that, since our first set of EmoXies and themes is non-exhaustive.

If you have a suggestion for an EmoXie, that you think is both relevant and representative of Luxembourg, we are all ears! Private individuals may indeed submit their concept along with a first draft of its design via this application form. Your suggestion will be evaluated by the Inspiring Luxembourg committee. Please be aware that in case of a favourable decision, your design may be graphically altered to ensure a visual coherence with the existing EmoXies.

Submission criteria

• RELEVANCE

The proposed theme must be closely connected to Luxembourg as a country with its very own past, present and future in order to inspire and serve the purpose of shining a positive spotlight on Luxembourg as a whole.

• REPRESENTATIVENESS

Besides being relevant, the submitted theme should also be representative of Luxembourg, which means it should accurately reflect key aspects of Luxembourg, its people, culture or any other category.

• NON-COMMERCIAL

Content used to commercialize, promote or advertise a product, service, business or brand will not be accepted. Thank you for your understanding.

• NON-DISCRIMINATORY

Content operating or promoting discrimination on the grounds of age, religion, race, sex, gender or sexual orientation constitutes prohibited content.
