According to the 2011 census, 48.1% of the Grand Duchy's inhabitants live in a couple with children. 8.3% live in single-parent families, with one or more children.

The majority of children under the age of 16 (59.3%) live in homes where both parents work.

This section will give you some guidance in your everyday decision-making. What are the first things to do when a child is born? What sort of childcare should I choose? What help is available for parents? What parental leave is there? I want to adopt a child; who can help? Am I entitled to any family allowances?
