Preparatory classes for French 'grandes écoles'
Since the start of the 2013/2014 school year, the Lycée Classique d'Echternach (LCE) has been offering the first preparatory class for French 'grandes écoles' (top-ranking higher education establishments) for business and management.
Preparatory classes for French 'grandes écoles' are higher education courses taught at a secondary school. These classes select students on the basis of an application and recommendations after the baccalaureate; in two years they prepare students for the competitive examination to enter French establishments with an international reputation such as HEC and ESSEC.
The cycle of study is equivalent to 120 ECTS (European Credit Transfer System) credits.
The Grand Duchy is planning to offer a mixed course combining science, economics and business. The curriculum also allows access to the third year of university studies (bachelor's degree) in certain fields of study.
