Edward Steichen collections: reopening of the guided tours and new website

As of 1 March 2017, the exposition has reopened its doors to the general public.

The website of the Edward Steichen collections has undergone a makeover! Modern, refined and clear, it offers information on "The Family of Man" and "The Bitter Years" expositions. Discover the historical account of these exhibitions which pay tribute to the human being, the different visits being offered, the events not to miss, the scientific and educational documentation as well as an e-shop.

The new site also offers a number of ways to "stay informed": the newsletter of the National Audiovisual Centre (Centre national de l'audiovisuel, CNA), a Twitter profile and an account on Instagram. The perfect tool to plan your visit.  

...of the timeless exhibitions


After its annual break, the CNA reopens the the two expositions of the world famous photographer of Luxembourg descent. Visitors can see the exhibitions from 1 March 2017 at 12 noon until the end of the year. Now is the time to discover or rediscover the Edward Steichen collections "The Family of Man" – which is part of the UNESCO'S Memory of the World Register – and "The Bitter Years", at Clervaux castle and the Wassertuerm in Dudelange respectively.

Special guided tours are scheduled:

  • on 5 March at 4 p.m., of the collection "The Bitter Years" (free of charge);
  • on 15 March at 7 p.m., of the collection "The Family of Man" (with a lecture);
  • every Sunday at 3 p.m., of the collection "The Family of Man" (free of charge).
