Are you about to consider building a new construction in Luxembourg? Are you looking for ideas or a competent partner for the redevelopment of your property? Then let yourself be inspired by the laureates and honourable mentions of the Bauhärepräis 2016 by the Order of Architects and Consulting Engineers (Ordre des architectes et des ingénieurs-conseils, OAI). Motivated by the success of the first four editions and the the growing public interest, the OAI launched its 5th edition of the Bauhärepräis to award the achievements in which the couple "project owner / designer" expressed itself in a particularly fruitful way. This edition enjoyed increasing success with 317 projects delivered (2012: 224).
The best achievements of the pas 4 years rewarded
The award was presented to 16 winners in the categories individual housing, collective housing, interior design, building used for commercial / trade purposes, building used for administrative / office / healthcare purposes, building used for educational / cultural / sports purposes, town and country planning / landscaped areas and energy equipment, including projects as varied as they are innovative.
Thus, new single family homes are listed alongside renovations and enhancements of older building fabric. You'll find single family homes, a bridge near Junglinster, remains of the fortifications of Luxembourg City, the House of Knowledge of the University of Luxembourg and a reception centre in a nature reserve, just to list these. All of the awards reward innovating achievements which promote the knowledge and imagination of Luxembourg's architects and consulting engineers. Moreover, the jury added honourable mentions of projects which did not make the laureates' list, but which even so are proof of an exceptional originality.
Discover the projects yourself!
From now on, discover the projects which have been rewarded: together with the City of Luxembourg, a dedicated exhibition called 'Bauhäre maache Lëtzebuerg' (owners make Luxembourg) has eben organised, which takes place from 30 May until 19 July 2016 on the square Guillaume II in Luxembourg City.
Movies about the winning achievements and interviews with the owners/developers can be watched on the OAI's Youtube account and on www.bhp.lu, as well as on the social networks. Also, #bhp16 is being used on the social media to bundle posts around the prize.
Moreover, an online exhibition featuring the 317 projects is available on www.bhp.lu. The book 'Bauhärepräis OAI 2016' will be on sale towards the end of June 2016.
Under the High Patronage of HRH the Grand Duke, the Bauhärepräis OAI is awarded every four years to private or public clients who, through a funded project, managed to promote quality architecture, engineering and planning.
The award encourages future owners and developers, better informed and more aware of their decisive role, to shape our way of living in a smart and sustainable way: who builds, builds for all of us.
