'Les Émergences', a support programme for the creation of contemporary dance from the Centre de création chorégraphique luxembourgeois (TROIS C-L), is back on the occasion of its third edition. From 27 to 30 April 2016, the dancers Simone Mousset & Elisabeth Schilling, Hanna Ma, Giovanni Zazzera & Sergio Mel, Baptiste Hilbert & Catarina Barbosa and Jill Crovisier will delight the public of the Bananefabrik and will make it discover the universe of contemporary dance in Luxembourg.
Six works will make the spectators enter the artistic universe of these eight newcomers of contemporary dance in the Grand Duchy.
Initiated by TROIS C-L, 'Les Émergences' incorporates a support programme for the creation of contemporary dance, as well as a cycle of public performances. The aim of the project is to enhance the talent of newcomers in the artistic landscape in Luxembourg and build bridges between the young choreographers and the large public. Besides, 'Les Émergences' is supposed to bring greater visibility and recognition to the participating emerging choreographers in the professional and public field, on a national as well as on an international level. According to TROIS C-L, the question of the emergence has been present in the artistic debate for years, but it remains a vague notion nonetheless. By initiating this programme, TROIS C-L reinforces its engagement in favour of the choreographic emergence, just like several structures and institutions in Europe which make it a priority. Encouraging the choreographic emergence nowadays equals asking this question: what will be the dance of tomorrow?
