From 15 to 17 April 2016 the 9th edition of the 'Printemps des poètes Luxembourg' will take place. The event, aimed at promoting poetry, offers three days of lectures, meetings with poets, debates and exhibitions at Neimënster, the Kulturfabrik and the Simoncini Gallery. About 20 embassies and cultural centers offer encounters and exchanges in order to make poetry alive and let it be heard.
15 poets in total from all over the world will perform on stage during these three days. Luxembourg will be represented by Léon Rinaldetti, an author of poetry and prose and a journalist.
The 'Printemps des poètes' will start with an opening night on Friday 15 April 2016 at the Kulturfabrik, where readings and music will alter. On Saturday 16 April, the 'Big Poetry Night' will take place at the Neumünster Abbey with a reading marathon with 15 invited poets. The 9th edition will come to an end at the Simoncini Gallery with a 'carte blanche' given by the Syrian actress and poet, Fadwa Souleimane.
During these three days, the poets will offer lyrics or prose, written, sung, chanted texts in their mother tongue, which will be translated into French, German or English.
Launched in 1999 in France by politician Jack Lang, the Poets' Spring has been celebrated in Luxembourg since 2008. The big difference between the French Poets' Spring and the Luxembourgish version is the international and multilingual character of the Luxembourg event.
